It's been quite awhile since I created a journal... (two years? *faints*)
Let me enlighten you as to what I have been up to! (A lot has happened)
Last August 2012, I packed up an moved on a whim. All the way from my po-dunk small town in Montana (USA) to "Practically Mexico" Texas (USA). A dear friend of mine was having personal troubles and asked for some help.
I had about two weeks to get my life in order for the move. But not to worry I was assured I would have work once I arrive in TX. My friend picked me up while on a visit - and drove back to TX. I was not able to bring very many of my belongings just a few clothes. (First Surprise)
I arrived at their house, and immediately things went south. I DIDN'T have the job I was promised...or any job at all. I immediately became their maid, cleaning the house daily. I also watched her son, and lent her money. In the meantime I was introduced to a very nice gentleman.
The maid work continued about 2months, which is when I ran out of money to lend my friend. At which point I was kicked out of the house for being a "mooch".
30hours away from home, in a strange place about to be homeless. Sweet right? Well that gentleman I met decided to be a hero, and got an apartment with me! (Talk about lucky)
The one we found, was.....a complete shit hole. None of the windows were sealed, the gas didn't work. And lucky us the place was infested with bugs. We spent almost a year there somehow. The first few months sleeping on the dust covered floor (no heat, during the winter of course).
I found 2 crappy jobs, and worked as much as possible too barely scrap by.
Couple months ago Me, My Guy, and his soon-to-be-divorced friend moved into a place together. Much nicer than what we were in, and I found a better paying job.
The new apartment is not great, and we lost most of our belongings from the last place (could not keep much, lot of it was infested by the bugs). It's not near anything so work is a long drive, and our roommate is a bum. But it's better!
My job....sucks. I sit at a computer all day and answer phone calls from people about their COBRA and pre-tax employee benefits. People are not nice...nor very intelligent. It does make me laugh a little on the inside when I get screamed at and the caller threatens to get a lawyer and sue my company. Like...these programs are regulated by the IRS, these are not OUR guidelines. You're going to try to sue the IRS? Good luck with that pal.
Biggest news? - I'm pregnant.
Right now, 19 weeks. It's terrifying, but I am hoping for the best.
All this is basically why I haven't been doing any art recently. I couldn't bring any of my supplies with me, and now my family refuses to send them to me. I have been debating going back to traditional work, but haven't bought any more supplies.
